The Bauhaus Lounge and Exhibition opens today at MoMA. Furnished with Bauhaus chairs, tables, couches, and other furniture, this lounge offers visitors a relaxing space to further explore the creative processes of Bauhaus artists. Visitors may consult a wide selection of books and catalogs, and enjoy screenings of documentary films that trace the history and development of the school, including Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet (1927) and the film of the reconstructions of Schlemmer’s Bauhaus Dances of the 1920s (1982/84).
Large graphics were produced by Color X. The large entry wall is covered with Dreamscape digitally printed wall coverings. With many different textures and finishes available, this was printed on a matte finish. The virtually seamless mural combines with text and photo images for a great introduction. Other graphics were over sized fabric on stretch frames.
