Flatbed printing offers the ability to print directly on a wide range of rigid materials. Popular materials regularly printed on by Color X are , sintra, gator, acrylic, wood, metal, glass , mdf board and more. Direct printing has given many more creative options to reproduce art on a large scale. Our flatbed also gives even more flexibility by print white ink. This allows spot printing and also to print on different color boards.
In this photo of a recent museum graphic installation, black & white image is printed directly on 1/8″ sintra board which is a PVC. The board is then directly mounted to the wall. In this case the wall was not in good condition the rigidity of the board hid any wall imperfections. Another advantage is the image was printed without having to make any visible seams. Inks used are UV making the printed image very durable with hi resolution reproduction.
