A Picture is Worth Ten Thousand Signs
There is no question about it; billboards and signs all blend to make one huge muddle and most of them don’t even represent the owner’s products or messages. Large Format digital printing is the only significant improvement seen in the advertising business in years, and these messages cannot be missed.
Walk On It
Think about it, the majority of people walk with their heads down. Smart as they are, few people watch where they are going, so there is always the chance they will walk into your building by mistake. However, hoping they don’t walk with their eyes closed too, they will be staring at the ground. That’s okay with you, just put your information on a carpet with pictures and color that will stand out and wake them up. You may even save them from a few injuries this way. You can put special event notices on there or simply give directions to the nearest bathroom- in fact, you can put a picture of a toilet on there if you want to.
Cover It
Are you stuck with an ugly wall and are too lazy to paint it? Or maybe it’s just blank and boring. I say, forget the paintbrush, and take advantage of that unused space by covering it with digital images big enough to be seen from across the street. You can literally transform your space inside and out from disgusting to enchanting. Cover those nasty windows, refurbish your entrance, alter that cement wall that mentally pushes people away and make it all beautiful. Everyone might be talking about your shop now, but we want them to start saying nice things.
Where In The Heck Is It?
Have you ever planned to go to an event for a foundation or a showing at an art museum? Is there anything more frustrating than not being able to find it? After all, museums are not small buildings, you would think directions would be everywhere, but no, not one. Wouldn’t it be refreshing just to find one that is announced with visual graphics large enough to see it without parking your car and running up to read it? A large banner saying “brain surgeon symposium is here” with an arrow would suffice, but the options are limitless with this company’s artistic flare.
How many times have you been in a new city or new country and would give your right arm for a cup of coffee? You can’t find that darn cafe anywhere can you? There are a million places on the street but which one sells coffee? Well, check this out. I was in a similar situation and did not speak the language so asking someone was out of the question. I stood on the sidewalk and tried to look at every building and finally I saw one with a window covering similar to this picture. I knew that was the place for me – no words necessary- everyone speaks pictures.
Wrap It Up
Wow, when I left work last night the old office building across the street was the most unsightly thing in ten square blocks. I’m sure the businesses around it would have gladly chipped in to have it demolished. Today it is amazing. The entire building was wrapped in something, and it looks like a completely different place. Our company isn’t getting a lot done because we keep running over to look out the windows at the metamorphosis across the street. I think our boss is more than a little jealous.
I finally had to go over and see it up close and satisfy the nosy side of me. They are planning a renovation, and the image we see now will be the final result. This treatment is brilliant, what a great way to start the public salivating. I can hardly wait until it’s finished. It even has large lettering that says how the building will be used.
To Dye For
I saw something that blew my mind. Living in an area keyed for entertainment gives me an opportunity to see the newest and best graphics. One is called dye sublimation printing. It prints the images right onto fabric that can be used as curtains, wall coverings or even seat covers. It is three dimensional, and it looks like you are in different world than the one on the other side of the door. It is so realistic it is surreal.
The one I saw was about comic book heroes, and my grandson went nuts. He didn’t want me to sit on Superman. His photo was on the booth fabric, very cool stuff.
Visual Effectiveness
Well, just to bolster my point of view, visual advertising is the best method and it’s easy to evaluate with simple common sense. Look at the most popular sites on the web, and you will see what I mean. What I like most is the ability to change the ambiance as often as you wish.
