The technology of large format flat bed printing offers many new options and cost saving for the users of large graphics. Some of the new options that were not available just a few years back are, the ability to print direct on acrylic, metals, wood, glass, all mounting boards, styrene, custom fabrics and many more custom materials. Some of the most unique materials that we have printed on is rolled copper, neoprene, leather, denim, peg board, and specialty fabric which were upholstered for pillow cases and blankets. ALl of these make for great opportunities to create amazing fresh graphics for galleries, exhibits, in store promotions, windows, art installations, corporate interiors and other applications.
The added benefit of cost savings is realized as printing direct eliminates one step of printing on paper and then mounting to the substrate. Less materials costs and less labor.
In this example at museum graphics installation the image is printed direct to sintra board. Another advantage is that by printing direct the image is without any seams. in most cases printing papers and vinyls are limited in size, and therefore has to be done with a seam.
